Aron's Adventure

Aron's Adventure is a third person action adventure RPG that takes place in a fantasy world called Elor. An ancient evil re-awakens and the fate of the land is thrown into Aron's hands. 
I'm one of the two developers currently working on this game. I worked on this as my graduation project and am continuing this together with Tom Raudys.

Combat design/Programming

First I worked on the archery, I really enjoyed everything that comes into play, from sound to camera! It's a super interesting system to work on. The abilities were icing on the cake!

I wanted the melee in Aron's to feel fast paced and powerful. I created a modular system that can easily be expanded upon.

AI programming

From regular NPC's to enemies. I'm very proud that I got to do a majority of the AI in our game.

Early in the project I spend a lot of time on modularity and that has allowed me to create more than 40 different enemies for the final game.

General programming

With the exception of climbing and animals I'm responsible for most of the gameplay in Aron's Adventure. 

Systems I've enjoyed programming the most would include our weather system, music/Ambiance player, mount, AI, combat and inventory.

Art

I've been learning a ton about different art aspects in UE4.

I've done the lighting, weather, time of day and a lot of materials for the environment/post process volumes.

I've set-up multiple material functions that allow us to completely overhaul the look of our models.

Story / Optimizations

I had a lot of fun writing the story and all dialogue for the game. Aron's Adventure tries to keep a focus on gameplay but the story should feel familiar and engaging.  

I've also written many different tools for the engine that help optimize performance heavy areas of the game.

Sound Design

There's a lot of sounds involved in Aron's Adventure. I've worked with sound designers and composers.

All the music and most of the sound effects I've implemented and made work for our game.

Unreal Online Learning

I'm working together with EPIC on different courses for aspiring technical gameplay designers. The first one has already released and the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive. I'm very excited to get more people comfortable with using Unreal Engine.

The course currently has a 5 star rating with 65 reviews.

I work part-time on game logic that I sell to the Unreal Engine 4 Marketplace.

Open World Audio System.

A system that allows you to quickly add sounds to your level. Ambient sounds, exploration/tension/combat music and random sounds.

Entirely made in blueprints and easy to expand upon.

Set-up areas in your level with their own sound profiles.

Quickly set up the right bow that fits your game using this pack.

This replicated system is made entirely in Blueprints!

A modular bow blueprint that will make it easy for the purchaser to create a bow that fits their project.

Custom Shape Volumes

Quickly create custom shaped volumes that can trigger behavior for when your player enters the area.

Entirely made in blueprints and easy to expand upon.

Spawn System Multi-Player.

An easy to use spawn system designed for multiplayer that will save you a lot on performance in open world multiplayer games.

Spawning and de-spawning are both taken care of by the server without extra load for the clients.

Spawn System Single-Player.

An easy to use spawn system that will save you a lot on performance in open world games.

Spawning and despawning are both taken care of by the Blueprints in this project, example AI is also included.

Drop In - VR F2P

I'm the other half of Drop In, a free to play VR social game with different lobbies to hang out in and a lot of different gameplay elements to play around with. I worked on cover AI, weapons and a lot of other things. I had an absolute blast working with Jason (Wild Ox Studios).
