School projects

At school I had the opportunity to work on many different games with a lot of talented people.
If you are interested in learning more about what projects I worked on please click the button below.

What's there: A Research Project, a VR game, a story adventure game & more.

Metronome

Single Player, Adventure, story, Platformer, 2015, PC/PS4
Unreal Engine 4

With metronome we were going to experiment with telling a story to the player and on top of this it would be my first game where I did all the programming myself without using templates or starter tutorials. The game was also made for PS4 which made it very interesting.

Planet Crashers

 Experimental game, 2016, HTC vive
Unreal Engine 4

I started this project with limited knowledge about designing and scripting for VR. During the months I worked on this project I learned a ton about both. I was in charge of the programming the VR side of things. This allowed me to do a lot of experimenting with different types of movement and other fun stuff in Virtual Reality.

Wijk in beweging

Research project, Project Lead.
Client project

I was project lead and the Producer for the Wijk In Beweging Team.

We were working for a client who wanted us to come up with ideas for mobile applications that would motivate children to go outside more after school.

Older projects

Some very old projects.

Before some of the bigger projects I did there were the projects I started out with. You can find some more information below. Most of these are very old and my contribution wasn't as big as with the other projects.

During this block I got a better understanding of gameplay programming and game flow. A game where we all learned a ton and had fun working on something else.  I still use the things I learned then on a daily basis.

Planet Crashers

 Experimental game, 2016, HTC vive
Unreal Engine 4

Planet crashers is a Virtual Reality game where players have to fix a malfunctioning ship as it crashes towards a plenet. Players have to manage their resources as well as making sure everything is done on time.

I started this project with limited knowledge about designing and scripting for VR. During the months I worked on this project I learned a ton about both. I was in charge of the programming the VR side of things. This allowed me to do a lot of experimenting with different types of movement and other fun stuff in Virtual Reality.

I also helped my team mate create the malfunction system and was involved with all other aspects of the project.

The link below will show a video of  a simple VR demo with little to no interactions. This was made to see how people would respond to the elevator ride and was made for people new to VR.

Wijk In Beweging

Work for a client, Project lead, Producer, Motivating children to go outside, 2015

I was project lead and the Producer for the Wijk In Beweging Team.

We were working for a client who wanted us to come up with ideas for mobile applications that would motivate children to go outside after school.

We conducted some investigation for this, going to school, going to events. During these months I handled all of the production, communication with the client and making sure everyone in the team knew who was doing what.

After a few months of hard work the client was very happy with the end results and I had learned a lot about planning my work and being a team lead. A very interesting and refreshing experience.

On the left you can see an infographic of the field research results. We visited schools where we had children take a survey and then we also interviewed parents and observed children playing to see if we could come up with some ideas.

We didn't do anything in-engine for the client., we delivered a document with our ideas and findings.

Older projects

I don't want to clutter the website anymore than it is currently so the rest of my older projects I will summarize here.
All of these are from the year 2014-2015, anything before that is not worth mentioning.

Entrapped
A couch competetive runner. You have to outrun your opponent or stop him from running by placing traps on his path.
I helped with a lot of things on this project with my main focus on play-testing and gameplay balancing.

Envisioned
This was a third perosn mech shooter, I helped a lot with the design of this game. This was my very first game and the same goes for most of the team that helped making it, it wasn't really good but it was a great learning experience.
